From all reports, World IPv6 Day was a success.\u00a0 Online Tech was one of the major hosting providers participating in World IPv6 Day on June 8th<\/sup> along with 400 participating web sites and content providers including Google, Facebook, and Yahoo.\u00a0\u00a0 From 7PM EST on Tuesday June 7th<\/sup> to 7PM Wednesday June 8th<\/sup>, the participating companies ran their web sites simultaneously on IPv4 and IPv6 networks.<\/p>\n

Online Tech participated in IPv6 Day<\/a> to educate the market about the new IP addressing scheme and help its clients start the transition process.\u00a0 By making IPv6 day participation a priority for the company, we were able learn key lessons we can share with our clients as they face the transition in the future.<\/p>\n

Data Center Knowledge<\/a> reported a modest increase in IPv6 traffic for the day through monitoring done by Arbor Networks.<\/p>\n
